1995 Ford F350 Crew Cab Photo Gallery
We located this rare heavy duty 1995 Ford F350 Crew Cab Dual Rear Wheel Truck for our client.
They would like it to be a complete custom truck with numerous features and upgrades.
The motor is a large 460 V8 Gasoline engine with a four speed automatic transmission. This F350 is fully equipped with all of the nice power features.
We will be transforming this Crew Cab Truck into a very special custom vehicle!
The build began by removing the contractor's cap (we sold it for our client) and a "pre safety" inspection along with an appearance inspection was performed.
It was noted that the brakes needed attention. The brake pedal seemed to go almost all the way to the floor and there was next to nothing for brakes.
The motor and transmission were very strong and the suspension was also in very good condition.
The motor proved to be strong after we verified it by performing a compression test to all eight cylinders, the numbers were great!
The body seemed to be fairly decent. Both front fenders had rusted through holes at the lower sections (very common on this style of Ford truck). We will be replacing both front fenders with factory correct replacements.
The frame, floor areas and doors were all in very good condition. The box will require several new metal sections and both rear fiberglass fender flares will require repair.
We were very happy with the overall condition of the truck. It appears to have been well taken care of by the previous owner.
The restoration began by performing an overhaul of the motor. All gaskets were replaced with a Factory correct high grade gasket set. The alternator was replaced with the highest quality and upgraded capacity for years of trouble free charging.
The cooling system was upgraded to an all aluminum 4 core radiator (the best radiator you can get) and the fan was upgraded to a high volume electric fan. A heavy duty larger capacity transmission oil cooler was also upgraded and installed.
We media blasted the valve covers and painted them the special "sparkle metal Jade Green" that will match the exterior of the truck.
With all of the motor and transmission work completed, our attention turned to the braking system.
We replaced the faulty brake master cylinder with an upgraded heavy duty unit and an all new heavy duty power brake booster.
All of the metal brake lines were replaced with the best "nickel-copper" metal lines (they have a lifetime warranty). All rubber flex lines were also replaced with brand new.
All brakes (both front and rear) were replaced with the highest quality heavy duty components available on the market. The rear axles seals were replaced too. The complete braking system on this truck now should be much better than what the truck came equipped with when it was new!
The complete exhaust system was replaced with all new components. The original catalytic convertor was replaced with a new high quality unit.
With the all new exhaust system replaced, next was the fuel tanks.
Both front side and rear fuel tanks had signs of corrosion and were replaced with new units including new fuel pump sending units. We degreased and cleaned both of the new fuel tanks before applying 3 coats of an extremely durable 2 part grey special epoxy paint. This extra step of protecting the fuel tanks should make them last a lifetime!
With all new fuel units this will ensure years of trouble free driving not worrying about fuel pressure and rust issues (it also eliminates any issues with old residue at the bottom of the fuel tanks).
The section of frame from the truck cab all the way back to the rear bumper bracket area was media blasted (all surface rust and flaking rust was removed) and the frame was treated with 3 coats of a special high gloss black 2 part epoxy paint.
Next the rear box was media blasted and all rusted areas were cut out and replaced with all new steel. The complete box assembly received 2 coats of a 2 part black epoxy to seal the bare metal before a high quality grey high build primer was applied.
The box assembly was placed back onto the frame and our special body kit finally arrived!
This was the biggest challenge for us so far in the build! We had searched far and wide to try and locate a special body appearance package. We are relieved to have found a kit that will make this custom build unique!
We dry fitted the kit to the body panels and began sanding and smoothing the exterior of the truck.
Stay tuned as this one of a kind custom build continues.........
