1973 VW Beetle Photo Gallery
Allow us introduce you to "JuneBug".
This 1973 Volkswagen Beetle Sedan was originally our client's mother's car.
It is a "numbers matching" Beetle (meaning the body, chassis and engine is original as it left the factory in 1973).
We will be performing a complete "ground up"/ "pan off" restoration on JuneBug. (It will involve lifting the body off of the chassis).
It appears that JuneBug has received some bodywork repairs over the years. There is a large amount of corrosion in the chassis and structural areas (common on Beetles). We also see large amounts of body filler which we will deal with as the transformation progresses.
JuneBug has the honour of being the "rustiest" Volkswagen we have restored so far. She required the most metal fabrication we have ever done on a vehicle. She has virtually all new metal now!
The chassis has been redone, the front drum brakes were upgraded with a disc brake conversion. The motor has been rebuilt, and the engine received upgrades along the way. We increased the size of the piston and pot kit to bump the displacement to 1641 cc. She will be peppier now!
She also has an upgraded ceramic exhaust system with stainless steel "baffled" tail pipes. JuneBug sounds great!
JuneBug has been painted the factory original Marina Blue (paint code L54D) with the period correct premium single stage paint.
We repaired the front hood and rear engine lid. They have been painted both inside and out. All four fenders were also painted inside and out. Work on the both doors are next.
Stay tuned as JuneBug's transformation continues......
